The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District pre-k-12 district curricula are designed to align to New Jersey State learning standards and instructional best practices. The district curriculum contains what students should know and be able to do (skills and content), how it is taught (instruction and methodology) and how it is measured (assessments).

Grading and Assessments

Existing New Jersey law permits parents and guardians to exempt their child from any portion of instruction in health, family life education, or sex education that conflicts with their sincerely held religious beliefs, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:35-4.7.

All district curricula are accessible through the district website. Each course includes a Course Description and Resources section, which outlines the core instructional materials used. A pacing guide is also provided for additional transparency.

Parents or guardians who have questions or concerns regarding curriculum content or instructional resources are encouraged to follow the district’s established chain of communication. This process begins with the classroom teacher, who is best positioned to explain the instructional content and how it is presented in the classroom.
